Let's Play Ball!

Welcome to Santa Clarita Youth Baseball, a family-centered league that practices and plays baseball at Castaic Sports Complex.

When your little sluggers (girls and boys, ages 4 - 13) join our league, they enjoy the benefits of organized youth baseball:

  • It gets kids out of the house and away from electronic devices,
  • Improves hand-eye coordination,
  • Teaches them about the importance of teamwork,
  • Helps them make friends outside of school, and
  • Promotes patience and focus.

Every year, our spring season starts in February and fall ball starts in September.

Spring 2026 Season Details

The season will run from February 21 through May 16. (There will be no games Easter weekend (4/4) and during spring break (4/11). Playoff and Championship games will be held after May 16.) Tee-ball starts on February 23.

As a nonprofit organization, we're happy to offer these low season fees:

Baseball 101 (Tee-Ball): $195, Ages 4-5

Rookie League: $225, Ages 5-7

Minor League: $250, Ages 7-9

Major League: $275, Ages 10-13

Plus Volunteer Fee: $50 (Refundable if a parent/guardian volunteers during the season.)

If you sign up multiple siblings, a discount will be automatically applied.

Registration fees include a team hat, shirt, belt and socks, in addition to the practices and games. Uniform sizing tends to run small, so you might want to consider ordering a size up. Please note that umpire fees are not included in your registration amount.

Baseball gear you need to provide for your little sluggers include baseball pants, a glove, USA bat (not a USSA bat), helmet, athletic cup, cleats (not metal cleats) and a water bottle.

Tryouts will be held on January 10, 2026, at Castaic Sports Complex to determine which team your child will play on. Rookies and Majors: 9 - 11 a.m. / Minors: 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. (Tee-ball is excluded from tryouts.) 

Practices and games will be held at Castaic Sports Complex. Rookie, Minor and Major league games will take place on Saturdays. Tee-ball practices and games will take place on Monday evenings.

SCYB Snack Shack is open during the Saturday games and offers a variety of drinks and snacks in addition to breakfast and lunch options.

Team Managers use the SportsEngine app as the primary form of digital communication with their teams. Please download the app after tryouts to determine which team your player(s) were assigned. The app includes the ability to chat with the coaching staff about the practice schedule and games.

SCYB Academy Program

Santa Clarita Youth Baseball is looking for kids ages 8-10 (will consider older ages too) who are looking to take their baseball skills to the next level.

The Academy Program is structured around accelerated drills and higher levels of coaching, with a focus on the development of players who hope to play in high school and beyond.

The program will include:

  • Extra field and cage times weekly.
  • High level of coaching focusing on proper fundamentals.
  • Possible additional games on weekends against local developmental teams.
  • Visits from former and current high school and college players and coaches.
  • A focus on building players' confidence and maturity within the game. 

Fees will be $115 monthly; this covers field times and all expenses.

VOLUNTEERING

As a nonprofit organization that continues to grow, we need to enlist your help in order to accommodate all the local kids who want to play ball.

The $50 fee paid when registering will be refunded if a parent/ guardian volunteers during the season. There are a variety of volunteer opportunities available!

Only one day of volunteering is required. If interested in signing up to help out, please email us. If you don't have time to volunteer, your $50 fee will go towards our fundraising efforts to improve the fields we practice and play on.
