FAQ

Q. My player has no experience playing baseball. Is having experience a requirement?

 A. No, every season we have several kids in all leagues (Rookie, Minor, and Major) that have never played baseball before. What we do after tryouts is form the teams with players of all skill levels, including players with no experience. That way each team is as balanced as we can make them.

Q. Can my player be on the same team as his friend who is in the same division?

 A. While we cannot guarantee a player will be on the same team, we will try to accommodate your request. When registering, please fill in the comments section and specify the other player’s first and last name.

Q. Is it too late to register my player once registration closes?

 A. Generally, yes, it is too late to register as we typically hold tryouts very soon after registration closes.

Q. My player is unable to attend tryouts due to a pre-planned commitment. Does that impact their ability to play baseball on a team?

 A. No, missing tryouts will not impact the player’s ability to play on a team.  Attending tryouts is highly recommended to enable each team to have a balance of skill levels (i.e. no experience, low experience, moderate experience, high experience, etc.) so that the teams can be competitive with one another.

Q. Can I obtain a refund after my player has been placed on a team?

 A. No, a refund (subject to a bank processing fee) will be approved only before the day of tryouts. Once tryouts are over, there are no refunds.

Q. Is there a softball league?

 A. No, Santa Clarita Youth Baseball only offers baseball 101 (tee-ball) and baseball.

Q. I want to volunteer as a manager or coach - how to I sign up?

 A. Please register as a coach or manager on the website (link is on the home page). Once the personal background check requirement is complete, one of our Board Members will contact you.
